The GJEPC Artisan Awards, Mumbai, April 2022 | Panel discussion: All For Art

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council - the apex body driving India's export-led growth in the gem and jewellery sector was established in 1966. Based in Mumbai, with regional offices throughout India, GJEPC's activities cover: promoting brand India, connecting government and trade, upholding diamond integrity, spreading education, innovation and infrastructure, health and well-being and paying back to society.

The 5th edition of GJEPC’s Artisan Awards was held this April in Mumbai, the theme was ‘The Collectors’: Elizabeth Taylor, Barbara Hutton and Wallis Simpson – glamorous figures renowned for their passion for jewels and their individual style, and the inspiration for new jewellery designs.

Understanding Jewellery was delighted to be invited to judge the short list of designs, and David was honoured to be asked to present the Awards to the winner and the runners up in each collector category.

David joined a panel discussion held during The Artisan Awards, hosted by Deepthi Sasidharan, Director, Eka Archiving Services, and featuring Gayatri Rangachari Shah, Journalist and Cultural Aesthete; Vishal Kothari, Founder and Creative Head VAK Jewels and Milan Chokshi, Founder, Moksh Jewellery.
